DON’T WAIT UNTIL MONDAY START NOW AND JUST DO SOMETHING

How many of us have started a diet on Monday,  sabotaged yourself on Wednesday, stopped working out by Friday, pig’d out on Saturday and Sunday, and started your diet again on Monday and repeated the same thing the following week??? Guess What, ME TOO!!!!

Here’s the thing…YOU ARE NOT GOING TO LOSE WEIGHT UNTIL YOU GET UP OFF YOUR BUTT AND DO SOMETHING!

Now that you have done something, Congratulations!  First I want to say that I commend you for knowing that your health is at risk and that you have to make a change.  BRAVO! You can do this and you will do this.  So with that said Yes we can do this together!!!!

Here’s what I want you to remember:

Stop throwing yourself a pity party!

Having a pity party won’t help the pounds come off.  No one but you has this weight to lose, so no one but you has to tell yourself that you can and will accomplish your goal!

Set an attainable goal.

Don’t be unrealistic in your goals.  I’m going to tell you like it T I Is!  THE WEIGHT DIDN’T COME ON OVERNIGHT SO IT’S NOT GOING TO COME OFF OVERNIGHT!!! I’m soooo serious about this!  1-2lbs per week is an attainable goal! 10lbs per week is not realistic and it isn’t HEALTHY either.  If you think about it 2lbs per week is 8lbs per month.  In 6 months you can lose close to 50lbs!  If you do it the right way.

Steer Clear of Sabotage!
  • Going out to functions!!! Sabotage!!! I know I don’t need to say more about that! You know when you are going out to a function. It’s on your calendar, so cut it out! Okay plain and simple: Eat before you leave, bring your full water cup, eat the veggies and say NO THANK YOU!
  • And you know, while going out with friends, you have to beware of the “Oh you can have just one.” or “It won’t hurt.” or “Treat yourself.” SABOTAGE!!! Don’t let your friends hinder you from your ultimate goal!
  • Your fat friends! SABOTAGE!!! Yeah, I said it!!! YOUR FAT FRIENDS will sabotage you! Unfortunately, everyone doesn’t want to see you succeed and they want you to STAY JUST LIKE THEM! YEAH I SAID IT! You have to ignore comments and snide remarks and encourage them to join you!
  • And lastly, “Oh I thought you were Big and Fabulous?” Traitor! Yup, I am. But I am also smart enough to realize that I am OBESE and if I don’t get HEALTHY and lose weight then I’m going to be exactly what Dr. Phil said “Fabulous and GONE!” So don’t let anyone sucker you into thinking that you have turned your back on the “Big Girls Club”. That is not the case, you just wanna LIVE LONGER!

Just Get Started!!!

You don’t have to have some fancy shmancy weight loss plan to get started on your weight loss journey!  Now of course I’m on THE PINK METHOD but just in case you can’t get The Pink Method here is what you need to do:

  • PUSH BACK AND MOVE MORE!  We gain weight because we don’t move and we are eating junk!  You CAN NOT lose weight properly and help it stay off unless you EXERCISE!   I didn’t say spend a bunch of money on a gym membership either.  Walk to the store instead of driving, take the stairs at work instead of the elevator.  Build your stamina and your momentum, the more you do the more you’ll be able to do!

  • As far as food here are some small steps you can take to a healthier and lighter you:  Stay away from the white stuff: sugar, flour pasta, white bread, etc… Do eat: FRESH Fruit and Veggies, Good/Smart Carbs: a small potato, sweet potato, whole grain bread (1 slice maybe twice per week).   Eat Lean Protein/Meat:  White Fish (Tilapia, Red Snapper, Scallops, Shrimp) Pork Tenderloin, Chicken Breast, Ground Turkey.  Yes I know weight loss is always fish and chicken but SO WHAT!  Desperate times call for Desperate Measures.  At least I gave you a few more options.  ;-).

So quit getting depressed, busted and disgusted, you and I together can and will win this battle of the bulge.  The bottom line is, WE HAVE NO CHOICE!  This is serious business.  Obesity is common, serious and dangerous.  More than one-third of U.S. adults (35.7%) are obese, Approximately 17% (or  12.5 million) of children and adolescents aged 2—19 years are obese (cdc.com).   If this doesn’t scare you then maybe high blood pressure, diabetes and high cholesterol will!  It’s time to wake up people and JUST DO SOMETHING!
