Fullfigured Fashion Week – Marla Wynne Showcase

Blog Post Logo

If you don’t already know it is thee Fullfigured Fashion Week 2016 in New York City and our Fashion is taking over!  Fullfigured Fashion Week began 7 years ago and it is the go to destination for high fashion, affordable fashion, fit fashion and discussions that are changing the face of what mainstream thinks we should wear and how we should wear it.

Thank the Lord for Marla Wynne!  Popularly known on HSN, she’s been tolling the bell for Plus size fashion for quite some time now and at the Marla Wynne showcase she teamed up with Madeline Jones of Plus Model Magazine to show off her new line exclusively for Fullfigured Fashion Week. Raffles were drawn, Models were revealed and Garments were worn!  I had a chance to pick the brain of Marla Wynne and she’s conceptualized an awesome line  that features an amazing array of soft palettes as well as GARMENTS THAT MOVE.   “While many individuals are embracing the Bodycon style, it’s also important to not FEAR THE FLOW of fabric”  P1000281

She features chiffon, blousons, and mesh that delicately lay on our curves that are timeless and can remain a mainstay in your wardrobe for years to come.

Marla also has a background in TV Production and in our conversation, Marla referenced a colleague asking her to be a part of the “Women in Cinema” group, she told the friend she didn’t want to join because she just wanted to be a person in cinema. She likened the plus size industry to that story in how we aren’t a separate pocket of fashion but, “We are fashion”!  Thankfully in 2016 our industry has become more and more profitable, so things they are catching on!

Stay tuned for more footage and updates on FFFWeek.
