I don’t know about you but I’ve been out of commission all summer concerning my health regimen and literally have been acting a complete fool. I’ve been eating everything I could get my hands on and everything I could order on Door Dash, Uber Eats and Grub Hub . And don’t even get me started on working out. It was pretty much slim to none. I did my weekly Zumba class, the pool for water aerobics a few times and that was it! I had a demanding gig this summer that left me exhausted daily and in need a mid afternoon nap. To say the least I was jacked up and you know what happened, I gained a ton of weight! After my gig was completed I didn’t jump back into a routine either I took laying around to the extreme I did absolutely nothing but still ordering like a champ! I absolutely fell in a rut that I didn’t mind, why because I was free of responsibility, free of shape wear and didn’t care! I was going to enjoy this “vacay” before my regular gig got started. But that soon became a problem. Again I looked at the scale and I told myself I had to do something about it but I needed a jump start.
For me a Jump Start is seeing the scale move fast. This usually means trying something drastic for only a short period of time so that you can get back on a regular healthy regimen. Before everyone starts shaming me and saying that their is more to health than the number on the scale, notice I said FOR ME a jump start is seeing the scale move fast especially when you are seriously over weight. My number got extremely high and I also said a short period of time. Seeing that scale move in the other direction will help you want to keep going. My jump start was the Military Diet after being sedentary for so long. I seriously needed it. My limbs were feeling plump, nothing fit and I didn’t want to workout. I lost 8.6lbs in 3 days and this experience helped me understand that there is nothing wrong with a temporary jump start. Here’s why:
- Get’s you out of your rut so that you keep going
- Increases motivation
- Reduces Inflammation
So now I’m back on track. It’s always good to shock your system to increase motivation, get rid of any bloat you may feel and to just feel good about getting healthy again even if it’s again and again and again and again. The important part is that the AGAIN is happening.
PS: Need a jump start join an online group. ROWFit35 on Facebook is where I posted everyday during the 3 days to keep myself accountable
